Fields
Folks we will be playing on P3 and P4 all season - That is the Purple lot for parking.
Triple Play
Thanks for everyone making it out last night. Most of the games were a little lopsided for Week 1, but saw some potential in some teams and looked like everyone had a good time.

All About that Base - 29 - Romeos - 9
High scoring affair in this game as in top of the 1st it was All About that Base going for 9 runs, but Romeos came back to tighten the gap at 9-7. 2nd inning defense was on point for both teams as Romeos gave up 2 runs to make it 11-7 and the Base gave up a run to make it 11-8. Then the 3rd inning came with Romeos giving up 2 TDs and not doing too much on offense to make it better as it was 25-8 at this point and in the 4th inning The Base showed mercy by just scoring 4 runs. Final in this one was 29-9.

SQUAD - 20 - PARK OPS - 8
Not a bad game here as Squad opened it up with a big 2-1 lead after 1 inning then made it 8-2 after 2 innings and then looked like a run rule as it was 14-2 through 4 innings, but in the 5th Park Ops showed some life putting up 6 runs to make it 14-8, but in the bottom of the 6th Squad showed their muscle and put up 6 runs of their own to make it 20-8 for the mercy rule, but it was the longest game of the afternoon at 6 innings, plus the big triple play in this game that I cant recall ever seeing by Squad turning the triple play and that set up Park Ops having to start their next inning with 2 outs...double burn!

Open Arms vs Seal- Rite
Big bats early! Open arms started strong in the first inning with 4 runs coming across followed by a "HUGE!!!" hitting performance from Seal-Rite that put up 18 runs in the bottom of the inning. Open Arms tried their best to mount a come back, but being short players on the field really did make it tough for them. There was a couple inside the park home run from both teams as they both showed that speed can really kill!! The final score was 25-8 with Seal-Rite coming away with the victory. Looking forward to seeing both teams throughout the season.

River Eels vs The Maniacs

River Eels came out ready to play in this first week as they also showed some raw power from both their females and males. They had a very strong performance putting up a total of 19 runs and going on to "run rule" The Maniacs.

The Maniacs did not give up though! They showed great effort and reminded everyone that this sport and program is for all of us to have fun and meet new people. They are a new team to both this Sunday league and the Sports Monster family. They were a fun bunch to be around. They will be a super fun team to see around on Sundays.

Although some games ended up a blow out all team really showed great sportsmanship. It was a fun Sunday and I am really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Week 2
Week two of this season was a very interesting one. It was Fathers Day!! We wish all fathers a Happy Fathers day. Only down part of this day was that two games were not played do to forfeits.

Game 1

Seal-Rite vs. All about That Base

I must say, this was by far the most interesting game of the day. Both teams came out ready to play! Back and forth, back and forth, it just seemed like this game was never going to end with a winner! Seal-Rite would score 3 than All About that Base would came back with 3 of their own. It was just a gladiators match out there! Must of been that fathers day aura, apparently no body wanted to lose on fathers day. Both teams ended up with an 11-11 tie. It was a Nail biter. I can honestly say that my heart was racing a tad bit as the suspense of who might come away with this game was driving me nuts! Excited to see these two teams come around playoff time.

Game 2

Squad vs. River Eels
River Eels just keep showing their dominance over every one they play. They came out with big bats once again as they had a combined 3 home runs for the day leading to a stellar 12-0 victory. The question is who can keep up with these River Eels! my bet goes on Seal-Rite and All about that Base. I can not wait to see one of those two teams play the River Eels. Can the River Eels go undefeated this season?!?!?! We shall see over time.

Give it for Team squad though! As they came out with their very bright neon green tank tops and just squaded up. I like it! A bunch of fun individuals that like to get together and play some fun softball. What more can you ask for on a beautiful 90 degree Sunday Summer Afternoon. Although, I hope you guys had sunblock! those arms are going to be toasty after yesterdays game.

Aces of Bases vs. Open Arms
This game started out really close as both teams had the defense going early with no score in the 1st inning and tied at 1s through 2 innings. However, Ace of Bases would start getting the offense moving putting up a few runs in the 3rd making it 5-2 then it was 8-2 through 4 innings. The bad inning came in the 5th inning as Ace of Bases mustered up 6 runs to make it 14-6 then in the final inning it was 17-7 as Open Arms would leave a far too many people on the bases in this game. Game was closer than it appeared in the box scores, but none the less Ace of Bases did work putting up 17 runs.

PARK OPS AND MANIACS WHERE ARE YOU?

Thanks for everyone that showed this week. I will be looking forward to seeing everyone again next weekend. Have a good week.

Double Headers
Aces of Bases, MaryJo's Army
GETTING HOT IN HERRE!
It is getting a little toasty outside so bring your fluids and your teammates (right Park Ops). Otherwise some real good games last night.

Field 3 Games:
River Eels - 8 All About that Base - 2
The Eels firepower wasnt clicking on all cylinders this week, but the defense was strong enough to propel them to an easy victory as That Base struggled to get to home this afternoon.

MARYJOS ARMY - 15 ALL ACES OF BASES - 5
The battle of the individuals was close all throughout this game until the last 2 innings where MJs soldiers started to kick the door open. It was 7-4 going into the 5th inning then the last few innings MJ outscored their opponents 8-1 to take the battle of the individuals.

ACE OF BASE - 15 PARK OPS - 7
So you know your going to be in trouble playing 10 on 6, but Park Ops decided to give it a go and took a 3-0 lead through 2 innings actually. However, the bad part of having only 1 girls is taking 3 outs at the end of the lineup. So once Ace of Base got going it was pretty much over for Park Ops as they couldnt even have a chance in the 7th inning to win the game even if everyone scored as Ace of Base was 1 run away from run ruling them in the 5th inning. Park Ops deserves credit though for going all 7 innings though with 6 players.

Squad vs. Open Arms

Squad came out today with a vengeance after a rusty game last week. Great hitting and pitching performance yesterday! Last week was put behind them and they made sure they got the W today. Squad came out with a blow out win 14-8. Squad Improves to 2-1. Watch out for them in the playoffs! Sleeper team
Open Arms needs to figure it out as they fall to 0-3. They need some team chemistry building as they are just not clicking too well right now. I am sure they can figure it out for playoffs.

The maniACS vs. Seal-Rite

Seal-Rite just keeps rolling on as they put up 16 runs!!! This team has put up 10 or more runs in every game they have played this season. They are looking like a team to beat in this league. I am excited to see this team play against the River Eels which are the favorite to win this season. Seal-Rite has great team chemistry. They cant seem to get enough of each other at work so they decided to play some softball together every Sunday ha. Seal-Right improves to 2-0-1 while the maniacs drop to 0-3

MaryJo's Army vs. Romeos Pizza

This game was tight!!!!....well......until about the 4th inning. It was a very good game the first 3 or so innings as it was a 9-8 game until MaryJo's bats woke up. MaryJo's went on a tear in the 4th and 5th and just closed down Romeos Pizza. I would like to say that Romeos Pizza has made great improvement these last couple weeks. All though they fall to 1-2 they have shown great improvement in all aspects of the game, fielding, hitting, and pitching. I am glad you guys and girls are having fun out there while at the same time getting better at the sport of softball.

It was a great Sunday to play some ball. I hope we all made it home safe and we all drank a lot of water after such a hot day as yesterday. Remember folks there will be no games this weekend due to the July 4th weekend. I will see you guys in two weeks. Have a blessed week and an amazing 4th of July.

Sunday League Breakdown
Half way through the season and we are going to sum up how our teams are doing for this Sunday Summer 16 Softball League.

The one and only!!!

River Eels are the one and only team left in this league with a perfect record at 4-0. So far it does not look like they will be stopped. Hell doesn't even look like they will be slowed down. Will anybody be able to prove me wrong and give them a match at sometime this season.

1 lose teams

-MaryJo's Army
-Aces of Bases
-Squad
-All About That Base
-Seal-Rite

These teams are trying everything in their power to keep up with the River eels! they have all been dominating the league but still cant figure out a way to get those slipper Eels into the lose column. It seems like there will be a big fight for that 2nd and 3rd seed in the last weeks of the regular season

Struggling teams

-Open Arms
-Romeos Pizza
-ParkOps
-The Maniacs

Open Arms got their first win this season! So congrats on that. Still though these teams are really struggling and can not seem to figure it out. Season is almost up we have to do something here ladies and gents. Lets hit a bar up have some drinks and get that team chemistry going! Its the summer! there is plenty of team building activities that can be done lol

WALK OFF
Some good games yesterday in the hot sun. 3 games were pretty close including a little walk off to end the first game with. Make sure to stay hydrated during the games. Its going to be even hotter this week!

SEAL RITE - 12 PARK OPS - 11
Park Ops probably can be a solid team if they can get enough people to the field. They looked like the better team yesterday but every other inning had to take 2 outs at the end of the lineup to destroy any momentum they had. Seal Rite struggled early but had 2 innings that would keep them in the game until the last inning. With bases loaded and down a run with 2 outs the pitcher walked a guy on 3 straight balls which would mean 2 runs come across and that would be it as Seal Rite had a nice comeback for the victory.

MANIACS - 20 ACE OF BASES - 14
Great game here as well as the Maniacs captured their first victory of the summer! Looked like a solid team that must have just put it all together this week. Maniacs started strong going up 13-3, then the Aces made a comeback to cut deficit to 13-7. Maniacs then scored 5 to make it 18-7 almost run ruling the Aces but then the Aces got 7 runs to make it 18-14, but the Maniacs held on took the game 20-14 in a good game.

SQUAD - 20 MJS ARMY - 3
Not a great showing for the troops in this game as Squad played a great game to hammer home a point that they are contenders.

OPEN ARMS - 13 ALL ABOUT THAT BASE - 9
Another tight game as both teams played solid defense and let it all hang out there on the field, but in the end Open Arms are coming around and took the game 13-9 defeating a once 2-0 team now 2-2-1.

RIVER EELS - 15 ROMEOS - 1
This game was tight early as the Eels didnt start breaking through until the 3rd inning. It was 2-0 through 2 full innings before the Eels put up 9 to go up 11-0. Romeos got on the board in the bottom of the inning to score 1. It was 15-1 after 4 innings, but Romeos did score one after the game had ended to make it 15-2, but not enough.

PLAYOFFS ARE SET!
JUST SOME KEY NOTES ABOUT PLAYOFFS
- WE WILL DO THIS ALL IN 1 DAY WIN AND MOVE ON. LOSE AND GO HOME!
- DO NOT BRING ANY NEW PLAYERS!!! THEY WONT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY

7)MANIACS V. 10) PARK OPS - Just played yesterday with Maniacs taking the victory so could be the same or can Park Ops pull off the upset?

8) ACES OF BASES V. 9) OPEN ARMS - Week 1 rematch where Aces of Bases took the game by 10 runs. Both teams have been up and down this season so should be a great game.

1) RIVER EELS V. 8/9 WINNER - River Eels has had it easy this season so we'll see how well they fair as the overwhelming favorites.

2) seal Rite - v. 7/10 winner - Seal rite took care of Maniacs early in the season but are playing much better as of late. Park Ops also took them to the limit in week 6 as well so I wouldnt be surprised to have a close game here.

3) SQUAD V. 6) ROMEOS - The home team may not be the favorite team after yesterdays game as Romeos upset Squad last night and get the luck of the 1st round draw this week. Better step it up Squad otherwise it maybe a 1 and done for you.

4) MJs Army v. 5) All About that Base - All About that Base pounded the Army earlier this season so they hope they can do it again this week as the Army has been up and down all season. Should be a good one though.
